He served in the US Navy in Korea and taught until his retirement for Knox County Schools. Lonnie was a member of Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church.
Lonnie is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Lillian Brown; daughter, Karen Binger; sons, Scott and David; 6 grandchildren: Alex Hare, Kirsten (Pablo Hinestrosa) Hare, Rain Binger, Gatlin Brown, Savanna (Tony) Pewitt, and Janelle Corbin; 3 great grandchildren: Flynn Fletcher and William. Preceded in death by his son, Craig.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 6th at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Funeral services will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Click Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Clay Harrington officiating. Family and friends will gather at 3 p.m. on Sunday at the Highland Memorial Cemetery in Knoxville for graveside services.
