Sandra Rochelle Reynolds, 74, of Norman, Oklahoma, died on Friday, December 28, 2018, following a lengthy illness. She was born at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky, April 6, 1944. At that time her father, then Lieutenant Hugh Reynolds, US Army, was serving his country on the battlefields of Europe, while her mother Eloise Dooley Reynolds, ‘kept the home fires burning.’ ‘Sandy’ had three distinct careers; in finance, as a budget officer, for the US Air Force, where she achieved the rank of Captain; financial analyst at the Federal Reserve Board; guidance counselor at the J.D. McCarty Center; and finally her lifelong love of books led her to be children’s librarian at the Nicholson Library of Garland, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; aunts, Irene and Sarah Dooley of Aplin, Arkansas and Elizabeth Dooley Peterson of Cave City, Kentuchy; and sister, Elinor Young. She was survived by her cousins, Don Dooley and Beverly Doremus of Aplin; her aunt, Martha Barnhouse of Sebring, Ohio; nephew, James Gilstrap; and grand nephew Alan Gilstrap of Norman, Oklahoma; niece, Nancy Tue and grand nephew, Chandler Tue of Clarksville, Tennessee; and sisters, Martha Ann Anderson of Slaughterville, Oklahoma, and Mary Catherine Reynolds of Oklahoma City. A simple graveside service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, 5 January, at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
