Paul Thomas " Tom" Bishop Jr., age 75, of Christian Street, Morehead, passed away Thursday, January 3, 2019, at the Life Care Center in Morehead.

Born May 15,1943 in Carlisle, he was the Son of the late Paul Thomas Bishop, Sr., and Vivian Trimble Bishop.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jan Barker Bishop, whom he married December 27, 1969; his son and daughter, Paul Thomas Bishop III and Kelly Robin Bishop, both of Morehead; and three grandchildren Madison Nicole Barker, Carter Allen Leach, and Sylvia Ryan Bishop.

Other survivors include one brother, Timothy Michael (Elsie) Bishop of Clover, Virginia, two sisters, Vivian Diane Bishop of Portsmouth, Virginia, and Kathryn Bishop Newcomb of Newport News, Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.

Tom and Jan owned and operated Pasquales from 1989 to 2018 and the Bakery on Main from 2010 to 2018. Prior to coming to Morehead, Tom was employed by Texas-Eastern Pipeline in Houston, Texas, as a logistics manager. He enjoyed the diversity of America having grown up on the East Coast in a Navy career family. Known as a " work alcoholic" Tom also enjoyed attending car shows and reading about automobiles; however, his greatest joy came from his family- especially the grandchildren, whom he adored.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 7, 2019, at Jesus Our Savior Catholic Church with the Rev. Arturo Molina officiating. Interment will be in Lee Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, January 6, 2019, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
