Mrs. Karen Rebecca Jensen, age 58, of Silsbee, Texas passed away on Jan. 1, 2019 in Kountze, Texas.

Mrs. Jensen was born in Summerville, Georgia on June 28, 1960, daughter of Marlinda Bennett Tucker and the late Grady Bennett. She graduated from Spurger High School at the top of her class in 1978. Following graduation, Karen joined the United States Army, completing her 4 year enlistment as a sergeant. Karen attended Lamar University, where she pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. She then graduated in 1998 with a Master of Education Degree as a Licensed Professional Counselor. Karen was very passionate about helping others and thoroughly loved her career as a psychotherapist for over 20 years. The last 10 years of her career were spent at Guiding Light Counseling Center, where she used not only her education, but her Christian Values and beliefs to help those in need. Karen was also heavily involved in Special Olympics as a volunteer and served as the Vice President of the Silsbee ARC. Karen was preceded in death by her father Grady Bennett; maternal grandparents, Thomas and Katherine Langston; and paternal grandparents, Otis and Eula Bennett.

Mrs. Jensen is survived by a son, Caleb Jensen; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Tom Daniels; sister and brother-in-law, Melody and Mike Hall; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mark and Tammy Bennett and John and Dione Bennett; mother and step-father, Marlinda and Frank Tucker; and a number of niece and nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Jensen will be held Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 4:00 P.M. in the Farmers Funeral Home Chapel in Silsbee, TX with Pastor David Nugent officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 2:00 P.M. until the funeral hour.

A Second Visitation will be held Monday, January 7, 2019 at the Coffman Funeral Home in Summerville from 12:00 Noon until 1:30 P.M. Graveside and Interment services will follow at 2:00 P.M. in the West Hill Cemetery in Trion, Georgia.

Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Silsbee ARC, 775 S. 6th St., Silsbee, TX 77656. So many lives have been changed because of Karen. She provided light in the dark and guidance through the seas of life.
