Born in 1911, she was one of nine children born to John and Sarah MacMullen. Raised in Harrison, she married Alexander M. Knox, and together they had a long and happy marriage before he passed away in 1999.
During more than a century, Emma lived to see electric and indoor plumbing become commonplace in the home, endured the fear and anxiety of two World Wars, managed through The Great Depression, and saw countless advances in technology (she was amazed by social media). She was enjoyed life to the very end, and was able get around on her own, have dinner with her son, Al (who recently turned 84), and get her hair done every Thursday. She was even still an active member of the Pequannock Seniors. Emma was a truly amazing woman.
She is lovingly survived by her son, Al; her daughter-in-law, Carol Knox; and her grandchildren, Paul and his wife Slawa, Craig and his wife Karla, and Megan. She was predeceased by her 8 brothers and sisters.
Visiting hours will be Monday from 4-8 pm at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held 10 am Tuesday at the funeral home, followed by burial at the First Reformed Church Cemetery, Pompton Plains
