Marie graduated from Newark High School class of 1945. She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ and worked at the Advocate for over 10 years. Marie was an avid sports fan who cheered for the Indians, Browns, Cavaliers, and especially the Newark Wildcats basketball team. She enjoyed spending her time with family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Richard Jeffrey Conner of Newark, several nieces and nephews including two special nieces, Barbara Markham and Bonnie Patterson; several cousins, including Sharon Eastep and Cynthia Jones; and many church friends including Bill and Nancy McInturf.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard H. Conner.
Memorial contributions may be made in Marie’s name to St. John’s UCC, 285 W. National Dr. Newark, OH 43055.
Visitation will be Monday from 5-7 PM at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St. Newark, where the funeral service will be Tuesday at 1:00 PM with visitation one hour prior to the service from 12-1 PM.
