Virginia Floras Jenkins, 70, passed peacefully away on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 surrounded by her family, at Vidant Medical Center of Greenville, NC. Virginia was born in Onslow County to the late Robert Jackson Floras and Ethel Brinson Floras.

Virginia attended Richlands High School and during the Summer of 1964, while parked at the Tastee Freeze in Beulaville, she caught the eye of a handsome young man driving a '58 Chevrolet. After dating for a little over a year, Duland Jenkins and Virginia Floras were married November 4, 1966. Their 52 years of marriage were spent together raising their two sons and daughter, working in tobacco, raising hogs, and in later years, spending hours watching Hallmark movies. Hobbies included: sweeping the floor behind coon hunters tracking in mud during the wee hours of the morning, cooking meals for an army of 22 every Sunday, and playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her favorite pastime was mowing grass at the farm on her air-conditioned John Deere tractor and her favorite phrase was "Get in the yard youguns!" heard by all the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren when caught chasing after each other, running through the house or wrestling in the floor of the living room.

Funeral service Sunday, January 6, 2019 at 2:00 PM with visitation to begin at 1:00 PM at Community Funeral Home Chapel, Beulaville, NC. Burial will follow at East Duplin Memorial Gardens, Beulaville, NC.

Surviving is her spouse: Duland Jenkins; two sons Tom Jenkins and wife Jackie, and Ronnie Jenkins and wife Pamela; one daughter Crystal Jenkins Wright and husband Johnny; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
