Donald E. Sharp, age 90, of Boonville and formerly of Excelsior Springs, died Saturday, December 28, 2018.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 4, at Crown Hill Cemetery in Excelsior Springs. No visitation will be held.

Howard Funeral Home in Boonville is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Huey and Myrtle, his four brothers, Marvin, Vernon, Ralph and Ivan, two nephews and a niece. He is survived by his wife Billie of the home, sons, Michael W. (Sherry) Sharp of Kansas City, Gary L. (Carrolyn) Sharp and Vernon (Brenda) Sharp both of Boonville, daughter, Jan (Kenney) Wyatt of Callao.

Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Mirlene Sharp of Kearney, and grandchildren, Sarah (Tanner) Comegys, Nick (Miriam) Sharp, Amanda Sharp, Austin (Marie) Wyatt, Zach (Victoria) Wyatt and great-grandchildren, Haley, Adie, Emmett Comegys.

Donald E. Sharp, 90, of Boonville formerly of Excelsior Springs, MO. Passed away Friday night December 28, 2018 at his home.

Graveside services will be Friday, January 4, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. in Crown Hill Cemetery in Excelsior Springs, MO.

Donald E. Sharp was born November 26, 1928 in Excelsior Springs MO, the son of Huey Sharp and Myrtle Clevenger Sharp. Don graduated Excelsior Springs High School in 1946. He married his high school sweetheart Billie Nann Pointer on September 21, 1947 in Excelsior Springs, MO. Don worked for A&P grocery in Excelsior Springs then transferred to Boonville in 1960, then to Belton in 1975, retiring in 1983 with over 35 years. He later worked at Cosentinos in Kansas City until final retirement in 1991. He was a former member of the Flack Memorial Christian Union Church in Excelsior Springs until 1960. When Don moved back to Boonville in 2007 to be closer to family. He was member of the First Baptist Church and served as; deacon, Sunday school teacher and church treasurer. Don loved fishing, gardening and woodworking. Most of all his family was the most important thing to him, he looked forward to seeing any of his grandchildren when they came to visit.
