Carol Ferris Francis of Roanoke, Va., departed this life to join her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, January 1, 2019.

She was predeceased by her husband, George; her son, GT; her parents, Mose and Victoria Ferris; and her siblings, Freddie, Michael, Reggie, Mercedes, Gloria (Sister Joseph Michael SCN), Anna and Genevieve (Weetsy).

Carol is survived by her son, Randy of Arizona; her sisters, Vicky F. Rowland and husband, Gary, and Mary F. Crowder and her husband, Mark; her sister-in-law, Lotus Ferris; her sisters by choice, Dora Finn and Gloria Jean Yanez; her best friend, Carolyn Gevreikan; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family would like to thank her caregivers, Lola Martin, Dianne Woolwine and Nina Blankenship for their loving care to Carol over the past few years. Special thanks to Jennifer of Medi Home Health & Hospice, and Amy and Heather of Kindred Home Health for their support during this difficult time. Many thanks to Dr. Clifford Nottingham for his exceptional care of Carol over the past 30 years.

She has fought the good fight, she has finished the race and she has kept the faith.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 4, 2019, at Our Lady of Nazareth Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Andrew’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2019, at Oakey’s North Chapel with the Wake Service at 7:30 p.m
