Barbara F. Greer, 83, of Rexburg, passed away on December 30, 2018, of natural causes.

She was born November 11, 1935, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to James Freeman and Myrtle Jenkins Foster. She attended area schools and graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1953, a member of the first class to graduate from the new high school.

After high school she went to work at Riverview Hospital as an elevator attendant. After a few years she had an opportunity to be trained as a medical transcriptionist.

She married Leo V. Greer on August 26, 1960, in Lewisville, Idaho. Three sons were born to this union. The family lived in Ogden, Utah for a few years before moving to Bancroft, Idaho where they lived until 1972, when they moved to Rexburg.

After moving to Rexburg, Barbara went to work at Madison Memorial Hospital doing medical transcription. She enjoyed her work there and worked for over 25 years before retiring.

She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, playing cards, and bowling. She loved to go to the Senior Center and play pinochle with her friends there. She liked camping with her family and always raised a large garden. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.

She is survived by her sons; David L. Greer, Daniel (Debbie Smith) Greer, Timothy R.(Jennifer) Greer; brothers, Jack (Rose) Foster, John (Darlene) Foster, Steve (Ruth) Foster; six grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Velma Jones; husband, Leo; and a great-granddaughter, Grayce.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at Flamm Funeral Home, 61 North 1st East, in Rexburg. The family will receive friends Wednesday morning from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home prior to services. Interment will be in the Sugar City Cemetery.
