Joe Bell, 74, passed away surrounded by his family at the Memorial Medical Center Hospital in Savannah, Georgia, on December 31st, 2018.
Joe was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma, to Maurice and Lera Bell and traveled for much of his life. He attended the University of Missouri and graduated with a degree in business. He worked in a variety of fields throughout his life, with 44 years in sales, and continuing work as a tax aide after his retirement in 2015.
He met his wife, Sandra, while attending college, and married in 1968. They had three children and recently celebrated their 50th anniversary.
He was a man who loved to share his wisdom with his children and grandchildren and tirelessly provided for everyone he loved, becoming a beloved figure in multiple communities.
Joe was an avid fisherman, holding a state record for kingfish and spending much of his time on or near the water, a passion he loved to share with his friends and family. He also cared for his many pets over the years.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Bell, Statesboro; brother, Dwayne (Carol) Bell, Liberty, Missouri; children, Stacy (Mysael) Santolaja, Okinawa, Japan; Natalie (Kendall) Mimbs, Soperton, Georgia; and Jason Bell, Liberty, Missouri; as well as by his grandchildren, Cody, Ian, Colby and Jalee.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, Ted and Kirk.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 2nd, at 2 p.m. at Bulloch Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Bill Bagwell officiating.
The family request that memorial contributions may be made to Pittman Park UMC, 1102 Fair Road, Statesboro, GA 30458.
