Mrs. Iva Lee Lewis, 92, passed away Saturday night (January 29, 2022) at Baptist Village Retirement Communities after a long battle with Alzheimer's.
The last of nine sisters, she was born December 16, 1929 in Ware County to the late Thomas Cuyler Cox and Pearl Minchew Cox. As a Godly woman, Mrs. Lewis was a homemaker most of her life and a member of Hosanna Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Ada Cox, Viola Cox, Louisa Thrift, Bessie Thrift, Gertrude Thrift, Mildred Kerr, Vesta Guy, and Victoria Johnson; her husband of 67 years, Glenn Lewis; and a baby son.
Survivors include one son, Jeff Lewis (wife Gretta) of Waycross; grandson Cuyler Lewis; one daughter, Barbara Lewis Milano (husband John) of Jacksonville, FL; granddaughter, Jennifer Hicks; grandson, Kel Kendrick; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday (January 31, 2022) at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will take place in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday beginning at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
