Wedding Anniversary June 21, 1947

Virginia E. (Levesque) Morin, 79, of Portsmouth, died Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital.

She was born in Dorchester, Massachusetts, on July 19, 1929, the daughter of the late Robert P. and Ruth E. (Irish) Levesque. Virginia attended schools in Portsmouth and in Rye and was a graduate of Portsmouth High School, Class of 1947. Virginia married her husband, Louis H. “Pete” Morin on June 21, 1947 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Portsmouth.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed at the First National Bank of Portsmouth and the John Paul Jones House Museum. She was a Communicant of Corpus Christi Parish at St. James Church. She loved to travel, sewing, quilting, and genealogy.

Virginia was predeceased by her husband on January 7, 1993; her daughter, Melissa A. Morin on June 27, 2004; and great-grandson, Nathan J Morin on May 7, 2007. Survivors include her sons, Arthur H. Morin and wife Elaine of Rye, and Thomas A. Morin and wife Susan of Nottingham; grandchildren, Aaron H. Morin and wife Laura of Rochester, Angela M. Yurick and husband Brian of Kittery, ME, Jessica A. Locke and husband Greg of Berwick, ME, and Seth C. Morin and wife Natasha of Farmington; two great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; sisters, Barbara Barron of Portsmouth, Patricia Emery of Albany, NY, Beverly Fury of Portsmouth; brothers, Robert A. Levesque of Lady Lake, FL, Ramon I. Levesque of Portsmouth, Richard H. Levesque of Milton, Donald E. Levesque of Stratham, and Barrie S. Levesque of Dover; an aunt, Phyllis Irish of Portsmouth.

Services: Visiting hours will be held from 6-8PM on Monday, July 20, 2009 at the J. Verne Wood Funeral Home-Buckminster Chapel, 84 Broad St, Portsmouth. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at Corpus Christi Parish at St. James Church, 2075 Lafayette Rd, Portsmouth. Friends invited. Family flowers only.
