Mrs. VanLear was born on April 5, 1929 in Staunton, a daughter of the late Jacob Daniel and Vernie (Cline) Wine.
Betty was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church and a graduate of Dunsmore Business College.
In addition to her parents, and widow of her three husbands, John McKinley Garber, Gerald Loraine Fisher, and Oney Atwell VanLear, Jr., Mrs. VanLear was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan (Garber) Arehart; and a sister, Shirley (Wine) Frank.
Surviving is a special cousin, Helen Marie Leach of Verona; a brother-in-law, Gabe Frank; two step-sons, Douglas VanLear and his wife Glenda and Philip VanLear and his wife Dottie; four step-grandsons; and a great step-grandson.
A Celebration of life will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church by Rev. Robert D. McCarty. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow in Pleasant View Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Mardy Marston, Todd Frank, Kenneth Page, Steve Troxell, Fred Bowers, and Kenneth Cupp.
