Mr. Oswald was a native of Allendale and a son of the late Joseph Caulder and Evelyn Johnston Oswald, Sr.
He was a lifelong farmer and a member of Brunson United Methodist Church. Ben loved people and especially a good laugh but most of all he loved his family.
Graveside Services wiil be at Brunson Cemetery with the Reverend Carrol Holladay officiating.
Family members include one son, William Benjamin Oswald Jr.; one daughter and son-in-law, Carol O. and David Free; two grandsons and daughter-in-law, Sherman and Mary Ann Free and Hollens Free; one great-granddaughter Lillie Free; sister, Lottie O. Rainey and sister-in-law Lillian N. Sherman.
He was predeseased by brothers, Homer, Maxwell, Joseph, Johnston and Nathan and sisters, Sara Margaret O. Jennings, Pauline O. MacDowell and Sue O. Loadlholt.
