EDWARD W. REDEKER
(1895 - 1957)

Edward W. Redeker, 61, of 2019 Garfield St., Two Rivers, a former meat market operator and an overseas veteran of World War I, died unexpectedly of a heart attack at 7 p.m. Thursday while visiting at the home of a friend.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John Lutheran Church, Two Rivers, the Rev. W. G. Haase officiating. Interment will be in Forest View Cemetery, Two Rivers.

Mr. Redeker was born in the Town of Mishicot Jan. 31, 1896, son of the late Henry and Minnie Zeddies Redeker. He attended the Pine Grove district school in the township. On June 17, 1922, he married the former Ella Duesing of the Town of Gibson. For five years the family lived at Mishicot before coming to Two Rivers where he resided since. His wife preceded him in death seven years ago.

For many years Mr. Redeker operated a meat market on Jackson Street, Two Rivers, retiring from that enterprise in 1944. He then began to work for the Kaufman Mfg. Co. at Manitowoc, retiring in 1952. A veteran of World War I, serving with the U.S. Armed Forces in Europe, Mr. Redeker was active in the Lutheran Men's Club of Two Rivers, a member of St. John Church of which he served as a trustee for a number of years and was a member of the Freier Saengerbund, Manitowoc, and the Robert E. Burns Post 165, American Legion, Two Rivers.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Harold Buvid of Two Rivers; a son, Howard of Two Rivers; five sisters, Mrs. Albert Johannes Jr., and Mrs. Walter Eis of the Town of Two Rivers, Mrs. William Meineke of Mishicot, Mrs. Carl Steinke of Baileys Harbor and Mrs. Harriet Kirkwood of Barron, Wis.; three brothers, Arvin of Two Rivers, Henry of Shawano and Kenneth of Englewood, Colo.; and five grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, Two Rivers, until 11 a.m. Saturday when the casket will be moved to the church where the body will lie in state until the time of service.

Charles Redeker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Redeker of Rural Route 2 and Miss Ella Duesing, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Duesing of Maribel plighted their troth at Gibson on Wednesday, Rev. Kirchner performed the ceremony.

A large number of friends attended the ceremony and a wedding reception was held at the home of the bride's parents.

The groom is employed as a butcher.
