Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 3rd at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Martinsburg.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 4th at the church. Father Ed Becker and Deacon Ron Deimeke will officiate. Serving as organist will be Palmyra Dubbert. Special music will be provided by Kate and Kellar Becker.
Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, south of Martinsburg. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Brian Becker, Clay Becker, Craig Becker, Keith Becker, Kent Becker, Kurt Becker, Ross Becker, Ryan Becker, Thad Becker, Ty Becker, Mark Hodges and Scott Hodges.
Services are under the direction of the Myers Funeral Home in Wellsville.
Mrs. Becker was born December 13, 1925 in Martinsburg, Missouri, a daughter of Gerhard and Mary Theresa (Bertels) Welschmeyer.
She was a 1944 graduate of Martinsburg High School.
On October 25, 1949 in Martinsburg, Missouri, she married Anthony John “Tony” Becker. They shared over 69 wonderful years together and were the loving parents of seven children. Elizabeth was a farm wife and had lived with her husband at their present address since 1991.
Elizabeth was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Martinsburg, as well as St. Joseph Altar Society and St. Joseph Ladies Sodality. She was a member of the Circle of Friends.
She enjoyed quilting and playing cards. In earlier years, she liked to dance with her husband, Tony. More than anything, she loved being with her family.
Elizabeth is survived by her devoted husband of 69 years, Anthony John Becker, of the home in Martinsburg; six children and their spouses, Phillip David and Annie Becker and Dennis Ray and Linda Becker, of Mexico, Gary Joseph and Vivian Becker, of Glasgow, Thomas Anthony and Delana Becker and John Gerard and Nancy Becker, of Laddonia and Deborah Ann and Gary Hodges, of Perry; daughter-in-law, Marcia Mitchell Becker, of Laddonia; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Lou Gebhur, of Indianapolis, Indiana; in addition to nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, William Edward “Bill” Becker; three brothers, Joseph W., Stephen Hubert and Lawrence F. Welschmeyer and sister, Catherine Holtkamp.
