Elizabeth Ann Grammer Holmes, age 85 of Winchester, passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Erlanger Health Systems in Chattanooga. A native of Franklin County, she was born on May 12, 1933 to the late Ruff and Lizzie (Weddington) Grammer. Elizabeth and her husband, Pete, started Shelter Insurance Company which she helped operate. She also had been employed by the Franklin County Board of Education in the Dietary Department and as a real estate agent. She was a member of Winchester Church of Christ and enjoyed playing bridge and golf. Elizabeth is survived by her loving husband of sixty-six years, Pete Holmes of Winchester; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 1-2 pm on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 pm in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Bro. Joseph Horton officiating.
