SPENCER: Dorothy M. (Johnson) Woodward, 76, of Pleasant St., died Saturday, Dec. 29 at Rose Monahan Hospice House in Worcester. Born in Worcester, the daughter of Carl and Marion (Brown) Johnson, she lived most of her life in Spencer graduating from David Prouty High School. Her beloved husband, Bruce D. Woodward of 30 years, predeceased her in 1988.

She is survived by a loving daughter Donna Anderson of Spencer, who was truly a gift from God, acting as Dottie's caregiver, a loving son David "Woody" Woodward of Spencer, helping Dottie in so many ways, her three darling granddaughters Nicole Glasberg and her husband David of Oxford, Heather Dziembowski of Spencer and her companion Jason Belmonte and Dana A. Woodward of Spencer, two great grandchildren Ethan and Liliana Glasberg. Her granddaughters were the light of her life and took them on many outings before her illness. She also leaves her brother Kenneth Johnson of Fl., brother in law Ronald Woodward of Spencer, sister in law Rose Marie Johnson of Charlton, sister in law Donna Johnson of W.Boylston, many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brothers Herbert F. and Carl W. Johnson.
Dottie was employed by Dienes Corp. in Spencer for many years before moving to the former Prouty Insurance Agency in Spencer, a job she truly loved and where she worked for 25 years prior to retirement.
Her family was her main joy in life, enjoying her monthly family dinners before her illness. Loved get togethers, and travel. Special thanks to Marilyn Zuidema, friend and neighbor for her many visits during Dottie's illness. Special thanks to the caring staff at Rose Monahan Hospice.
Dottie's funeral will be held on Saturday, Jan. 5 from the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 7 Church St., Spencer. Burial will follow in Mary,Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer. Calling hours are Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
