WINTER HAVEN - Robert 'Bobby' Douglas Hunter went to be with the Lord on June 23rd, 2016, after a long battle with prostate cancer.
Bobby was born on April 5, 1949 in Sarasota, Florida to Irwin L. and Adelphia Hunter.
A 1967 graduate of Lakeland High School, he attended Polk Community College.
Bobby held many jobs in his lifetime, retiring in 2013 as the Lead Custodian at Lake Alfred Elementary School. After retiring, Bobby served as a classroom volunteer at Lake Shipp and Wahneta Elementary Schools.
Bobby enjoyed watching animals in nature and listening to Southern Gospel music, especially bass singers. Above all, he loved the Lord and his family. He was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church in Winter Haven.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Kristen Lynne Hunter, his brother, Irwin S. Hunter, and his sisters, Patricia Shoush and Peggy Hunter.
Bobby is survived by his wife of 45 years, Claudia Hunter, his daughters, Mary Hunter and Karen Hunter, his sisters-in-law Rebecca Hunter and Patricia Foster, his brother-in-law Douglas Henderson, his aunts Virginia Caccamise and Mary Louise Hohman, his daughters of the heart Angelina Medina, Jolanda Foreman, Tamara Thomas and their families, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
