Shirley Ann Washington, 73, of Kokomo, transitioned from labor to reward at 1:15pm on December 28, 2018.

She was a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church where she previously served as a Church Trustee, Sunday School Teacher, Secretary, Vacation Bible School Co-Director and had been Secretary of the Indiana Baptist Convention. She served on several community boards, including the Kokomo Public Library. Shirley was a 1961 graduate of Kokomo High School and attended Indiana University Kokomo. She retired from Delco Electronics, Division of General Motors after 32 and a half years of service as a salaried employee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer B. Walker and Willie Ann Knowling and one sister.

Shirley leaves to cherish her memory and celebrate her life, son, William "Chip" Washington (Yong) of Elgin, South Carolina; siblings: Homer Walker (Jackie), Jeff A. Smith, Phillip Smith of Ellenwood, Georgia, Timothy Smith (Jill), Mary Lou Johnson and Sandra DeVost (Vincent); 4 grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.

The visitation is Saturday, January 5, 2018, 10am - 12pm, with the service at 12pm at Second Missionary Baptist Church, where Rev. Dr. William J. Smith, Jr. will be the officiant and eulogist. The interment will immediately follow in Crown Point Cemetery.
