She was born December 13, 1933 in Hurt, a daughter of the late Willie Tell Weeks and Myrtle Inez Simpson Weeks. She was a member of Hurt United Methodist Church and a retired employee of BGF. Janice enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
She is survived by two sons, Bennie Ellis and his wife, Carol of Roanoke and Jeff Ellis and his wife, Gail of Altavista; one brother, Ronald Weeks and his wife, Mona of Greensboro, NC; one sister, Norma Taylor and her husband, Ed of Gretna; two grandchildren, Adam Ellis and his wife, Amanda of Lynch Station and Andrew Ellis and his wife, Lauren of Evington; three great grandchildren, Alex, Maci and Haven; one nephew, Steve Taylor and special friends, Gwen Goggins and Virginia Lanier.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Hurt United Methodist Church.
The family suggests that those wishing to make memorials consider the Hurt United Methodist Church, 196 Ramp Road, Hurt, VA 24563.
