Richard A. Gagne, age 69, of New Bedford, passed away on November 20, 2016 at home. Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Arthur D. Gagne and Edith (Serras) Nickson, he was a lifelong resident of the city.

He was a graduate of New Bedford High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Southeastern Massachusetts University in Business Management.

Mr. Gagne served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon.

Richard enjoyed fishing, billiards, camping, biking, reading and the company of his dog Charlie.

He leaves behind a cousin, Joyce (Bobrowiecki) Pottel and her husband Kenneth of Fairhaven. His graveside service will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 10 am in Pine Grove Cemetery.
