Wanda Montgomery “Grumpy” (Vines) Doyle, 81, wife of Rodney Glenn “Skeeter” Doyle, of 2100 Troxel Gap Road, Craigsville, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Doyle was born on October 30, 1937 in Staunton, a daughter of the late Guy Lyle Vines and Frances Virginia Ruth (Kershner) Vines Bosserman.

Wanda was a member of Second Presbyterian Church in Staunton and was retired from the First Virginia Bank of Augusta in Craigsville with 15 years of service. She worked part-time at Cros-B-Crest, was an avid Bingo player and enjoyed crossword puzzles, gardening and cooking.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mitzi (Doyle) Shull; a brother, John L. Vines; step-father, William C. Bosserman; uncle and aunt James and Eola Golladay, whom raised her; and a close and special cousin, Jimmy Golladay.

In addition to her husband of 60 years, Wanda is survived by two daughters, Frances D. Shuey and her husband Robert of Churchville and Shelley D. Powell and her husband Randy of Staunton; two sisters, Bonnie Smiley and her husband Jim of Staunton and Betty Lou Daggy and her companion Hollis of Mt. Solon; six grandchildren, Sarah S. King and her husband Mack, Megan S. Hevener, William Seth Mowry and his wife Aimee, Rachel B. Caporelli and her husband Keith, Sean D. Powell and Samantha Lelia Powell; nine great-grandchildren, Liam, Ella, and Kadie Hevener, Wesley and Ayda King, Gwyneth and Rhys Mowry, and Gavin and Leah Caporelli; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of life will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 10, 2018 in the Linden Heights Baptist Church by Pastor Luke B. Smith.

The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.

Burial will be private.

The family wishes to express a special “Thank You” to Mrs. Doyle’s caregivers Laura and her aid Melissa.

It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to the Augusta Health
Foundation Hospice of the Shenandoah, Post Office Box 1000, Fishersville, Virginia 22939.
