BARBARA "BARB" A. LYONS, 86, of Fort Wayne, Ind., passed away on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018, at Parkview Hospital Randallia. Born on July 13, 1932 in Ossian, Ind., she was a daughter of the late Ross Gebert and Icel Bosserman. She graduated from Central High School in Fort Wayne, Ind. On June 21, 1951, she married William Joseph Lyons in Fort Wayne, Ind. Barb worked for Magnavox for many years until she became a loving mother and homemaker. In later years, she worked at McDonalds. Barb was a member of the Red Hat Club. She loved to crochet, play games, scrabble, and cards. Barb was also a cardinal enthusiast and loved birds. She was a fan of Notre Dame, Colts, and Raiders football teams. Barb loved to travel and be outside doing yard work. Barb was a people person and loved to spend time with her family and dear friends. Survivors include her children, Deb (Jerry) Martin, Cindy Lyons, both of Fort Wayne, Steve Lyons of Nashville, Tenn., Judy (Joe) Heiney of Churubusco, Pat (Angie) Lyons of Fort Wayne, and William "Bill" Lyons of New Castle, Ind.; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty (Bill) Gough of South Bend. Barb was also preceded in death by her husband, and two brothers, John and Dave Gebert. Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2018, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4916 Trier Road, Fort Wayne (IN 46815). Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019, at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne (IN 46815), with a 7 p.m. Rosary service. Burial will take place at Covington Memorial Gardens.
