Clarice Freeman Hogan Jones, age 80, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 30, 2018, at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.

Mrs. Jones was born in Montgomery County on October 15, 1938, to James Edsil and Ruby Ethel Freeman Hogan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Jones; brothers, J.E. Hogan, Maurice Hogan, and Edward Hogan.

She is survived by her niece, Elaine H. McNeill and husband, Jimmy, of Seagrove; nephew, Eddie Hogan and Cathy Spivey, of Seagrove; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Hogan, of Seagrove; great-nephews, Jeff McNeill and wife, Autumn, and Jeremy McNeill and wife, Farrah, all of Seagrove, and Jacob Hogan; great-niece, Marli Hogan; and great-great nephew, Langston McNeill; and three step-daughters.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 1:45 p.m., Wednesday, January 1, 2019, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Star. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Chaplain Bernie Raymond officiating. Interment will follow in White Oak Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Star.
