Barbara Shilling Klepper, 80, of Mount Joy passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Moravian Manor. She was the loving wife of The Reverend David E. Klepper, Jr., with whom she shared over 58 years of marriage.

Surviving in addition to her husband, David, are her four children: David R. (Alane Bernhard) Klepper, Susan K. (Stanley) Combs, Julia E. (Michael) Houseal, Kathryn J. (Grant) Magar. Grandchildren: Lauren Houseal, Samantha (Houseal) DiPerri, Michael Houseal II, David Combs, Rachel (Combs) Young, Delaney Klepper, Quinn Klepper, Riley Klepper and Dawson Magar. She was preceded in death by her brother The Reverend Fred (Marlene) Shilling and her sister Ruth (Barry) Haas.

Born in Johnstown, she was the daughter of the late Reverend Russell and Flora Shilling. Barbara graduated from Susquehanna University with a degree in Social Work. One of her professional accomplishments was establishing the Resource Center for the Central Pennsylvania Synod of the Lutheran Church.

Barbara was foremost a partner in ministry with her husband and a loving mother to her 4 children and 9 grandchildren. She was a strong, faithful servant of God, who did not hide her faith, but lived it, shared it and believed in the promise of a heavenly Father for life eternal. Family was very important to Barbara, including her many church families. She was a surrogate mother to many children and youth with whom she related as neighbor and Sunday school teacher.

Throughout her life, Barbara enjoyed vacationing with family, reading, sewing, knitting and other crafts. She loved music, singing in the church choir, playing the piano and French horn. Her legacy of love and caring will live on through her children, grandchildren and her many friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 47 W. Main Street, Mount Joy, PA, on Saturday, January 5th, 2019 at 10:30 AM. There will be no viewing. Friends will be received following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Barbara's memory to the Endowment Fund at Trinity Lutheran Church, Mount Joy.
