George Buttermore was born in Westmoreland county and was brought to this county by his father at a very early age. Here he resided until his death. He was widely known as a man of the most sterling integrity and as such was highly respected. He was a member of the Baptist Church for over thirty-eight years past, and for a long time, a Deacon. His death is sincerely regretted by all who knew him, and by it the community has lost a valuable member. Though his friends have sustained an irreparable loss, they mourn not as those without hope.
