Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 31, 2018 at 11:00 AM in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Claudia Doucet Hernandez, 68, who died on Friday, December 28, 2018 at her residence in Lafayette, surrounded by her family.

Reverend Gary Schexnayder will conduct the funeral services. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Survivors include her beloved husband, Charles Wayne Hernandez; two daughters, Nicki Hernandez Stroup and her husband, Tony, Lauri Hernandez Mauldin and her husband, Jeffery; five grandchildren, Kirsten Stroup, Grayson Stroup, Charlie Mauldin, Teddy Mauldin and Harry Mauldin; five nieces and nephews, whom she loved as her own, Hayley Baudoin Aucoin, Grant Doucet, Benjamin Baudoin, Christine Doucet Brown and Maddie Doucet; one great-nephew, Eli Aucoin; one sister, Donna Doucet Baudoin and her husband, Glenn; and one brother, James Doucet and his wife, Laurie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gabriel (Gabe) and Beverly Lené Doucet; one sister-in-law, Debra Hernandez Dalman; her paternal grandparents, Joseph and Bella Doucet; and her maternal grandparents, Alcide and Pamela Lené; and her beloved pet, Liesle.

Claudia Doucet Hernandez was a native and life-long resident of Lafayette, Louisiana. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend to all who knew her. Mrs. Hernandez enjoyed watching and supporting ULL Softball and even took in players Hilda Alfaro and Jerie Alexander. Claudia was a faithful member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Lafayette. She cherished her time spent with family and friends, always going above and beyond, and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Pallbearers will be Grant Doucet, Benjamin Baudoin, Michael Dalman, T.J. Dalman, Ronnie Boutin and Donnie Boutin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tony Stroup, Jeffery Mauldin, Creighton Aucoin and Tyler Brown.
