Ray P Taylor – Halltown, MO…Born Oct 11, 1935, Died December 25, 2018.

Born in Stone County, MO to Delmar and Tressie Taylor, he is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Teddy. The two would have celebrated 63 years of marriage on Christmas Eve. Also, preceded in death by his sisters, Lillian Batson of Kansas City; his sister, Claudia Christine who died in her youth; and grandson, Cody Taylor.

Ray is survived by his daughter, Christine Townsend of Halltown, son, Randall Taylor and wife, Sarah of Miller, daughter, Hope Wilson and husband Toby of Halltown. Grandsons, Cougar Taylor of St Louis and Chance Taylor of Miller; one great-grandson, Charlie. Also his sister, Frances Pringle of Broken Arrow, OK, along with family that includes many cousins, nieces and nephews. Growing up along the James River,.

Ray enjoyed all things outdoors, especially hunting & fishing, As a young man he truly enjoyed working as a guide on the James River. Ray was skilled in many trades, and worked alongside his Dad building lake cabins as properties developed along Table Rock Lake. While he loved the lake country, he eventually moved his family to the Springfield area where he worked for Hutchens & Sons Metal Products. In time he began farming, and for several years enjoyed life as a Dairy Farmer in Lawrence County. After farming, he was a truck driver for more than 30 years, logging more than 7,000,000 miles, in 48 states. He had many stories to share. Beloved by his family and remembered fondly by friends he was a good man and is dearly missed.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, January 5th, 2019 at the Stumpff Funeral Home in Crane, MO. The chapel will be open at 10:00 am with the service beginning at 11:00 am. A private family burial will immediately follow at the Cape Fair Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers Memorial Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, mail to 2926 E Battlefield Rd, Springfield, MO 65804.
