Vernon "Duke" P. Griffin Sr., 74, Independence, MO, passed away August 16, 2002. A celebration of his life will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday, August 25, at the Moose Lodge, Sugar Creek, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sunshine Center School, 607 W. Lexington, Independence, MO 64050. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Griffin, daughter, Cammy (Alex) Fetters, and son, Vernon (Sherri) Griffin Jr.
He is survived by two brothers, Johnny of Independence, Mo, and Jerry of Poughkeepsie, NY.
