Faye Berner Thomas finished her earthly work on Thursday, December 27, 2018. She was the wife of Douglas Eugene Thomas. She fought for her life with several health issues for a few years and is now at peace and rest.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, December 30, 2018, at Dukes Harley Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be private.

Faye was born at Fort Benning, Georgia, in 1945 to two volunteers in the U. S. military - Cpt. Bent and Ruth Berner. Following her father's duty stations, she grew up in Michigan, Japan, and North Carolina, and moved to Orangeburg with her parents as a teenager. Her first work was to serve her mother in the first private day care in Orangeburg - Treasureland, which later became Kids-N-Stuff. She continued to work there as a certified Montessori instructor. She became a believer in Jesus as an adult. For many years she led many children to Him through her daycare work and in hundreds of gatherings for youth that she conducted in various times and places, teaching them to obey all that He had commanded her. In later years, she began to serve Him by teaching women to follow His leadership in their lives. She has been ordained by the Missionary Church International since the early nineties. She married Douglas Thomas in 1991, and they worked together in some ministries, including leading many prayer events and many congregations in homes.

She is survived by her husband; her son, Jonathan Brady (Mirta) in West Union, SC; daughters, Kellie Goolsby (Philip Schmandt) in Austin, TX, Lynn Langston (Johnny) in North Augusta, SC, and Julie Nicholson in Ninety-Six, SC; her siblings, Linda Carnes (Ken) in Columbia, SC, Carolyn Bowman in Connecticut, Maria Furtick in Columbia, SC and Chrissie Campbell in Summerville, SC. Also, she leaves many nieces and nephews and "extra" sons and daughters through ministry relationships.

Persons wishing to make memorial contributions (in lieu of flowers) are directed to Spoken For Ministries and Soul Sisters, both at P. O. Box 431, Orangeburg, SC 29116.
