A Bardstown resident, Mrs. Rose Ann Wells, age 81 passed away Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Flaget Memorial Hospital. She was born on February 1, 1937 in Springfield to the late James David “Jim” Sr,and Theresa Edelen Railey. Rose was a former employee of Nazareth Sisters of Charity, was a member of Fairfield 2nd Baptist Church where she was involved in Women’s Ministries.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Richard Lee Wells, siblings, Susie Mae Phillips, Prudie Yocum, James David Railey, Jr., William Railey, Joseph Railey and Lynn Arthur Railey.
She is survived by her daughters, Priscilla Wells of Bardstown, Debra (George) Smith of Charlotte, N.C., 2 brothers, George Austin Railey and Alfonzo Railey both of Springfield along with 2 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
The funeral services for Mrs. Rose Ann Wells will be 11:00am Monday, December 31, 2018 at the Fairfield 2nd Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Calvin Holloway. Interment will be in Bardstown Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00-7:00pm at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home and additional visitation will be Monday at the church from 9:00am-11:00am. The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, 1475 New Shepherdsville Road, is in charge of arrangements. The family request that contributions be made to the American Heart Association.
