Katherine A. Berry, 78, of Peoria passed away Monday, December 24, 2018 at her residence.
She was born October 18, 1940 in Champaign to Everett and Lois Shanks Wells.
Her parents; husbands, Gerald Berry and William Wood Jr.; three sisters and four brothers preceded her in death.
She is survived by her children, Steven L. Brown, Lori (Mark) Bitner, Lois (Tom) Whitby, Mary (Tim) Durdel and Mark (Kim) Wood; grandchildren, Molly Bitner, Megan Bitner, Tiffany Whitby, Bethany Whitby, Alex Barden, Morgan Barden, Jordan Wood and Melissa Wood; five great-grandchildren and her beloved dog, Pippa.
Katherine worked as a waitress at Jumer’s in Peoria for 25 years; retiring in 1992. She loved her family and grandchildren very much. She enjoyed reading, U of I basketball and St. Louis Cardinals. She was a dear friend to many and a huge supporter of the Democratic Party. Katherine was a member of the Creve Coeur Christian Church where a memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 10 a.m.
