Flora Mae Ashley was born on December 25, 1938 to the union of
Henry Oliver Mcduff Ashley and Elizabeth Victoria Ashley in Ormond
Beach, Florida. She received her formal education at Campbell High School
in Daytona Beach.
Flora accepted Christ as her Savior as a young child and was united
with New Bethel AME Church.
In 1970, she was united in holy matrimony with JD Harris in Milwaukee,
Wisconsin. Their union was blessed with one child and five step-children.
Flora was employed by Kelly Service as a home maker for over 20 years.
In her leisure, she enjoyed all music, loved to dance and sew. She became
a member of Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church where she was a
member of the Gospel Choir, served as an usher and provided care in the
nurse unit for over 20 years.
Flora Mae Harris departed thi life on June 17, 2018. She wa preceded
in death by her parents, Henry Oliver Mcduff and Elizabeth Victoria Ashley; husband, JD Harris; great granddaughter, Madeline Rose Dickinson; and nephew, Vincent Dazwell Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory: daughters, Sherrill Ashley, Jacqueline
