He was the beloved husband of Jennifer L. (Smith) Weaver to whom he was married 5 years. Born July 4, 1972 in Hanover, he was the son of Steve and Drema (Reichart) Weaver of Hanover.
Shannon lived life his way to the fullest. He was a 1990 graduate of Hanover High School, a member of Grace United Church of Christ in Hanover, NRA, Army Sniper Assoc., International Assoc. for Counterterrorism & Security Professionals, and a life member of the Hanover VFW. Shannon served as an M.P. in the US Army for 12 years. He was a master in Jujitsu, Kempo and Kick Boxing, winning world championships in both breaking and self-defense. He was inducted into the US Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 2016.
Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are his two sons, Kaegan Weaver of Abbottstown and Patrick Weaver of Hanover both of whom were his greatest pride in life. Also surviving are his brother, Chad Weaver of Austell, GA and his parents-in-law, Patrick and Bonnie (Whisler) Smith of Hanover.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Avenue, McSherrystown, with Rev. Bonnie J. Whittier officiating. The Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard will provide military honors following the service. Burial will be private. Friends and relatives will be received Friday, 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
