Left to mourn his passing are his wife of 70 years Shirley (nee Sachs), daughter Lois (Ross Beckett) of Keady, son Dennis (Susan Montgomery) of Owen Sound and sisters-in-law Marion Redmond of Owen Sound and Eileen Klages of Chesley.
Mervin survived by many grandchildren and missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Predeceased by brothers Art (Elma), Alvin (Margaret), Gordon (Catherine) and Douglas,
sisters Thelma Clark (Cliff), Ethel Forbes (Earl) and Doris Calcutt (Ken), brothers-in-law Orneth Sachs (Jean), Cecil Sachs and Allan Klages, and great grandson Brent Stephen.
