David Junior Tyner, age 92 of Laurel Hill passed away at his home on Tuesday, December 25, 2018.
David was born June 2, 1926 to the late Henry and Florence Stogner Tyner in Chesterfield County, South Carolina. He was a proud World War II United States Navy Veteran and also served in the Navy Reserves. He retired after many years working in textiles with Springs Mill. He served as a faithful member of the Living Water Church of God and loved helping others in need. He also enjoyed wood working, fishing and loved making and shooting sling shots. David will always be remembered for the love and devotion he gave to his family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by all of his siblings, Samuel Tyner, John Tyner, Joseph Tyner, Luther Tyner, Willie Tyner, Carrie Harrell and Lila Gainey.
David leaves behind his wife of 70 years, Doris Roller Tyner of the home; his daughters, Deborah Miller of Laurinburg, Nannette Lewis (Blackie) of Laurel Hill, Myra Young of Laurel Hill, Dona Berry (Ander) of Gibson, Susan Lassiter (Dustin) of Pineville; his eleven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and a host of loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel with burial following in Hillside Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
