AUSTINTOWN - A memorial Mass will be held Saturday morning, Dec. 29, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Campbell, with Monsignor John Zuraw officiating, for Larry Beck, 83, who passed away Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2018, at his home with his loving family by his side.

Larry was born Oct. 21, 1935, in Struthers, the son of Jack and Anne Checkel Beck.

He was a 1953 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School. He went to Youngstown College and later earned an Electrical Technician certification from DeVry Technical School.

Larry worked as an electrician and retired from LTV Steel in 1985. Following his retirement from LTV, Larry continued to work for Valley Mold, Syro Steel, and ESW.

He was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church.

Larry was a member of St. George Croatian Lodge and Club, No.66 in Youngstown.

He enjoyed all sports, especially bowling and playing softball. Above all, he loved to golf and participated in the Senior League at Mahoning Country Club.

Larry loved to travel, listen to polkas, and enjoyed watching old western movies.

Larry will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his wife, the former Shirley Scofinsky, whom he married June 28, 1958; his children, Larry (Tina) Beck of Canfield, Denise (Dan) Donofrio of Brookfield, Tracy Fusillo of Sarasota and daughter Kelly Beck of Niles; grandchildren Jessica (Dan) Ward, Nicole (Jarrod) Lewis, Laurie (Jeremy) Herzog, Andrea Beck, Matthew Beck, Allen Byers, Krista Byers, Brittany (Jason) Rodman, Courtney Fusillo, Nikko Fusillo, Vincent Toto, and Angelina Toto; nine great-grandchildren; his brothers, Jerry (Elaine) Beck of Hudson and Rick (Sue) Beck of Myrtle Beach; and a sister, Carole (Dave) Jerger of San Jose, Calif.

Besides his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his brother, Lenny Beck.

The Beck family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church, prior to the 10:30 a.m. memorial Mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Boardman, OH 44512, in Larry’s name.
