Elizabeth Zachary Chilton, 91 of Wartburg, went to be with her risen Lord, Monday, December 24, 2018.

Elizabeth was born on May 13, 1927 in Albemarle, NC to the late Ora Oscar and Margie Zachary.

She married the love of her life, Gustavous (Gus) Chilton, on November 12, 1946 in Clover, SC; they celebrated 68 anniversaries together.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Gus; her brother and sister-in-law: Bill and Emma Zachary and brother, Jack Zachary all of Myrtle Beach, SC.

Elizabeth is survived by her sister-in-law: Gertrude Zachary of Myrtle Beach, SC; son: Gus Ed (Bridgette) Chilton; daughters and son-in laws: Evelyn (Fred) Roettger, Margie (Mitch) Branstetter, Peggy (Joe) Hamby; daughter-in-law: Sandy Chilton; grandkids: Michael (Jo) Roettger, Emily (Matt) Graber, Christina Smith, Ray (Nora) Jenkins, Rebecca Chilton, Madison (Brian) Jones, Drew (Eden) Jenkins, Sarah (Jake) Simpson, Monte (Tiffany) Branstetter, Leah Jenkins, Aaron Hamby (Sarah Hill), Victoria Hamby and Olivia Hamby; great Grandkids: Alli Laymance, Ian Graber, Lorelei Simpson, Jaxen Chilton, Wesley Smith, Amelia Simpson, Averie Chilton, Henry Hamby, Genevieve Graber, Hattie Jenkins, Marli Branstetter and Wiley Roettger; and a host of special cousins.

Elizabeth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and a long time member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church.

She will be remembered as the owner of Chilton Tractor Company and for establishing the Wartburg Speedway hand in hand with her husband, Gus.

The family will receive friends Friday, December 28, 2018 at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg from 5-7 pm.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 29, 2018 at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor David Graves officiating at 11 am. Interment will follow in the Morgan Memorial Gardens, Wartburg.

In leiu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church, PO Box 62, Wartburg, TN 37887 in her memory.

Schubert Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
