Roger Allen Stevens, age 67, of York, died peacefully, Tuesday, December 25, 2018.

Born in Cumberland, MD on February 13, 1951, he was the son of the late Gilbert Dewarren and Norma Mae (Van Meter) Stevens. Roger was the loving husband and best friend of Debra Ann (Seiple) Stevens; they were married April 28, 1979.

Roger was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the PA National Guard. He was employed as a truck driver for Abbleby Windows and later for Continental Wire. Roger was a member of the 13th Ward Club, the Rooster Club, the Shiloh American Legion, and the West York VFW. Roger enjoyed hunting and spending time at the hunting camp, "Camp Atrocity". He loved spending time with friends and family.

In addition to his wife, Roger is survived by his daughters Christy Shelly, and her husband Michael of Elizabethtown, Sherri Mellott, and her husband Rick of Carlisle, his brothers Charles Stevens, and his wife Linda of West Virginia, Richard Stevens, and his wife Martha of Mechanicsburg, Keith Stevens of Dillsburg, his sister Vickie Stoltz, and her companion Tom Ruth of Stevens, his half-sister Rose Quackenbush, his half-brother Tom Stevens, his step-sister Brenda Valo, and his step-brother Henry Wonders. He is also survived by his three grandsons Justin Shelly, Chase Shelly, Blake Mellott, and many loved nieces and nephews.

A funeral service to celebrate Roger's life will be held on Monday, December 31, 2018 at 11:00am from the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 1111 East Market Street, York, with Pastor Laura Holtzapple officiating. Interment will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with Military Honors accorded by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, December 30, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00pm and again at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00am until the time of service.
