Susan was very involved in the Omaha community. She served on the Board of
Directors of the Omaha Community Playhouse Foundation, the Joslyn Art Museum
Board of Governors, the Community Advisory Board of the Storz Cancer Institute, and
the Board of Trustees of Clarkson Hospital.

She was Past President of the Junior League of Omaha and the Clarkson Service League. She was Chairman of the Symphony Debutante Ball and of the Clarkson Fashion Production. Susan was the Queen of Ak-Sar-Ben in 1949.
