Obituary for Norma Jean Perry (Earls)

Norma Jean Perry, age 86 years, 2 months, and 20 days, passed away Saturday, December 22, 2018 in Jellico, Tennessee.

Funeral services were held Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie Miller and Dr. John Ditty officiating. Burial was in the McCreary Memorial Gardens.

She was born October 2, 1932 in McCreary County to Walter Earls and Dora Allen Earls. Norma Jean was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church, Whitley City where she was very active in many church functions for many years. She, along with her husband, Jay Perry, owned and operated Jay's Discount in Whitley City for over thirty years. Following her retirement, Norma Jean was an avid quilter and relished spending time with her family.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Jay W. Perry, brothers, Ernest and Arnold Earls, and sisters, Sammie Perkins and Mabel Jones.

Survivors include sons, David Perry and his wife, Carmen, of Whitley City and Philip Perry of Inverness, Florida, daughters, Debbie Perry of Gainesville, Florida and Becky Perry of Whitley City, brother, Joe Earls and his wife, Virginia, of Texas, sisters, Susan Waters and her husband, Ronnie, of Whitley City, and Wilma Duncan of Macon, Georgia, and grandchildren, Benjamin Perry of Berea and Victoria Perry of Lexington.
