June Lavina Mahl Tucker
August 30, 2022

June Lavina Mahl Tucker, 90, of Taberg joined her husband, Keith, in heaven on their 70th wedding anniversary. She was born August 4, 1932, the daughter of Irene Roth Mahl and John Mahl. June was raised by her maternal grandmother, Emma Roth, after her mother's passing when she was nine months old. June had four older brothers and was blessed to have her aunt as her "sister", Delight Roth Pelton.

She fell in love with the boy up the road, Keith Tucker, marrying him on August 30, 1952, in the Taberg United Methodist Church. They settled in a home on Meadows Road where Keith and June raised their three children. After Keith's sudden passing on November 3, 2017, June remained in the family home until medical issues required her to enter Rome Health Residential Health Care Facility in March 2021.

June worked up until the birth of her first child. From then on, her life revolved around her husband, children, grand and great-grandchildren. For the remainder of her life she doted on her beloved family. June enjoyed tending to her garden, baking, canning and cooking and loving her two cats. She also loved mowing her lawn with her wide-brimmed hat, earning the title of "perpetual mower". A woman of strong faith, she held several offices in the Taberg Methodist Church, as well as being the secretary for the Maple Hill Cemetery Association. June loved her Meadows Road neighbors. They became extended family to her. She was cherished by them all and will be greatly missed.

In her final days, even in her pain and anguish, she repeatly said "I love my family." June was assured of how much she was loved, admired and adored by them. She is survived by her children, Karen (Clark) Newton of Taberg, Alan (Beth) Tucker of Taberg, Diane (Nick) Polce of Remsen; six grandchildren whom she cherished, Corey Lawrence Newton, Nicholas Keith (Keri) Polce, Daniel Anthony Polce (Chelsee), Ryan Michael Polce (Jamie), Shelly Lynn (Josh) Wheeler, Alexis Irene Tucker (Tom), four great-grandchildren, Benton Alan Wheeler, Abigail Grace Polce, Colin Patrick Polce, Brent Anthony Wheeler; several nieces and nephews. June was predeceased by her husband, Keith; her four brothers, Clifford, Sidney, Everett and Lyle Mahl; her sister-in-law, Lois Willson and Delight Pelton.

June's family is grateful to the silent heroes, the wonderful staff of 3 East and 2 North of Rome Health. Their compassion was a blessing to June, as well as her family. We sincerely thank them for the care they provided.

June's visitation will be held, Wednesday, September 7, 2022 from 2:00 pm - 4 pm at the Taberg Methodist Church, Main Street Taberg. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 4 pm followed by a meal in the church dining hall. Arrangements are under the direction of LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Camden, NY. Memorial contributions may be made in June's memory to the Taberg United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 142, Lee Center, N.Y. 13363.
