Lois Oleta Hughes Harrison was born January 18, 1922 on a small farm in western Oklahoma. She was born to Julliss Charnel (J.C.) and Minnie Lee (Turner) Hughes. She passed from this life on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at the young age of 96. They moved just north of Verden, Oklahoma when she was a small child. She grew up there and attended Oak Grove country school. When she was 16, the family moved south of Anadarko and there she met her husband, Milton Harrison. Lois married Milton on November 19, 1938 in Anadarko. In 1940 their son, Richard was born followed by a daughter, Galeda in 1941. The family lived for 2 years on a farm north of Fort cobb with a brief time running a dairy in California. The family then bought the family farm 3 miles west and a half mile south of Anadarko where they raised their children. The whole family worked the farm which was a dairy and diversified farming operation. After the children were grown, Lois managed a fabric shop for Jim Carpenter until he sold it to Vernon and Hazel Hedrick. Lois continued her work with the Hedrick's until her retirement. She then worked at George's Department Store on and off during her retirement for 17 years. Lois was a member of the Rebecca Lodge, Better Homemakers, Anadarko Riding Club and Anadarko Square Dance Club. She joined Bethel Baptist Church and was baptized in or around1955. She loved her Church and especially her Sunday School Class.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Galeda Jones and husband, Montie of Lawton; 5 grandchildren: Randy and Becky Mannschreck of San Antonio, Texas, Steve and Teresa Harrison of Plano, Texas, Brian and Donna Mannschreck of Lee's Summit, Missouri, Rhonda Harrison of Bedford, Texas, Curtis and Tera Harrison of Plano, Texas; 2 bonus grandchildren: Kristie and Tarron Albright of Edmond, Oklahoma, Kerie Jones of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; 9 great grandchildren: Brad Mannschreck and fiance', Angelica Ley of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Ryan Nicole Mannschreck of Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Japan, Drake Mannschreck of Lee's Summit, Missouri, Austin Kriesman and Jacob Kriesman of Bedford, Texas, Sydney Harrison and Colin Harrison, Karissa Harrison and Preston Harrison of Plano, Texas; 2 bonus great grandchildren:
JT and Lauren Albright of Edmond, Oklahoma, Ashlee Albright of Edmond, Oklahoma; 2 bonus great great grandchildren: Bailey Albright and Jacey Rae Albright of Edmond, Oklahoma; daughter-in-law, Lorna Sue Harrison of Plano, Texas; brother-in-law, Leroy Harrison of Anadarko, Oklahoma; sisters-in-law: Mary Hughes Spurlin of Chickasha, Oklahoma, and Amajean Hughes of Blanchard, Oklahoma; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son,
5 brothers and 2 sisters.

Memorial services will be at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the Bethel Baptist Church in Anadarko. Montie and Galeda Jones will officiate. There will be a private family burial and the family asks that after the memorial services, you come and celebrate the life of Lois with them in the fellowship hall.
Services are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Anadarko, Oklahoma.
