Ernest A. Peters, 82, of Rochelle, passed away Monday Dec. 24 2018 at St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford IL. Ernest was born in Raymondsville, TX, Feb. 20, 1936 the son of John and Ora (Campbell) Peters. Ernest married Betty Dirck, his first wife and mother of his children, May 16, 1954 and she preceded him in death March 21, 2006. Ernest then married his now wife, Gloria Stern Nov. 11, 2006.
Ernest is preceded in death by his parents; daughter: Dotty Spring; grandson: Daniel Rosenbaum; brothers: Gerald and William Peters.
Ernest is survived by his wife Gloria Peters; 2 daughters: Connie ( Randy) Williams and Debbie (Terry) Rosenbaum both of Rochelle, IL; son-in-law: Mark Spring of Jacksonville FL; 2 sisters: Wilma Thomas of West Branson, MO and Bessie Dumsday of Sedalia, MO, IL; 2 brothers: Audi Peters of Sedalia, MO and Larry (Judy) Peters of Cherry Valley, IL; sister-in-law: Nadine Peters of Rochelle; grandchildren: Terry J (Sarah) Rosenbaum, Joshua (Heather) Rosenbaum, Karen Cox, Jeremy (Amber) Williams, Jonathan Williams, Hannah (Anthony Troisi) Williams, Lisa Spring and Rebecca (Wendall Reeves) Spring; great grandchildren: Haily, Maven, Annah Marie, Ethen, Jayden, Faith, Makenzi and Payton; great-great grandchild: Kenzlee. He is also survived by many nieces and nephew.
Funeral service was held Sat. Dec 29, 2018 at the First Baptist Church, 810 Woolf Ct. Rochelle, IL, with Pastor Doug Cowan officiating. Memorials can be made to the family. Burial will follow at Flagg Center Cemetery.
