Mark Middleton Simmons, 59, of Baton Rouge, LA., passed away on December 24, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loved ones.

Visitation will be Friday, December 28, 2018 from 1 PM until services at 3 PM at Hartman-Jones Funeral Home of McComb. Dr. Jim Porter will officiate and burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery.

Mark was born on March 2, 1959 in McComb, MS. He is the son of the late, Thad A. Simmons and Dorothy Butler Simmons Godbold.

Mark was a salesman and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Baton Rouge. He was a wonderful, loving husband, father and grandfather. He was an avid Nascar enthusiast and enjoyed boating and water skiing. His greatest joy was to minister to inmates in the prison system in Louisiana. He will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Burnette Simmons, two daughters, Amanda Lynn Lassere (Randy) and Amber Nicole Simmons; one brother, Thad A. "Spike" Simmons III (Martha), one sister, Gaye Simmons Starnes (Wayne); two grandchildren, Hunter Lassere and Jenna Lassere with numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Parker, Chris Wayne Starnes, Joe Simmons Blailock, Thad A. "Hank" Simmons IV, Lawrence Hampton and Randy Lassere.
