Mother Earnestine Scott, age 82, transitioned over on April 30, 2018 at North Florida Regional Hospital in Gainesville, FL.
She was a native of Ellzey, Florida and the daughter of the late Eddie and Alvera Scott. She graduated from the Williston Vocational High School in 1957. She lived in Gainesville for many years and served as a church mother at the Upper Room Church of God In Christ.
She leaves to cherish precious memories: (1) daughter, Linda Gordon of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; (2) granddaughters, Shameeka Gordon (Ashley) of FL Walton Beach., FL and Quin- Shayla Gordon (deceased); (1) great grandson, Ny-Riuon Dykes of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; (2) sisters Leona (Peggy) Rollins of Archer, FL and Fannie Mae Scott of Gainesville, FL; (3) brothers all from Chiefland, FL: Deacon Joe E. Scott, Sr. (Dorothy), Leroy Scott, and Evangelist Robert Scott (Evangelist Rutha); (3) godsons all of Gainesville, FL: Coy Godbolt, Jr., Charles Hunt, and Carlos Hunt and, a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
The Home-going service will be held at the Upper Room Church of God In Christ on 3575 N.E. 15th Street in Gainesville, FL where Superintendent Karl Anderson is the Pastor on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 12:00 Noon. The viewing will be held at the Booker T. Hunt Funeral Home in Newberry, FL on Friday, May 11, 2018 from 4PM-7PM and on Saturday one hour before the service. There will be no viewing after the Eulogy. The final resting place will be the Jim Milton Cemetery in Bronson, FL. The repast will be held at the St. John Missionary Baptist Church lunchroom in Bronson, FL where Elder Joseph Wilcox is the pastor.
