Jane Barnes, 72, of Pekin, passed away at 6:34 a.m. Monday, December 24, 2018 at UnityPoint Health~ Pekin Emergency Room.

Born March 30, 1946 to Alonzo Mitchell and Anna (Lemus) Spears, she married Richard Barnes on October 22, 1966 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and seven sisters.

Surviving are her significant other, Darrel Alcorn of Pekin; two daughters, Valerie (Matthew) Stetter of Groveland and Stacey (Bryan) Zwiers of Frankston, Victoria in Australia; one son, Rick (Jackie) Barnes of Chattanooga, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Jessica Wilson, Christopher Merry, Hope Barnes, Jacob Stetter and Mason Stetter; five great-grandchildren, Isaac, Sheli, Elijah, Isabella and Aiden; and three sisters, Pat (John) Murphy of Charlotte, North Carolina, Shirley Reudy and Cindy (Rick) Hess, both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Jane had worked for Illinois Central College in East Peoria for over 20 years, retiring in 2011.

Cremation rites will be accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be given to the American Parkinson's Disease Association at 1800 North Main, Street Suite 215, Wheaton, IL 60187.
