Daniel Eugene Dobbins, 68, 704 Franklin Street, died at 2:35 a.m. Wednesday at a local hospital after an illness of six weeks.
A native of Heiberger community in Perry County, Mr. Dobbins was a retired farmer, and had lived in Selma about 13 years.
Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. Thursday at Breslin Service Chapel with Rev. J.W. McCurdy, pastor of the Alabama Avenue Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethlehem Methodist Cemetery at Heiberger.
Surviving are the wife, Mrs. Martha Carter Dobbins, Selma; one daughter Mrs. J. E. McCabe, Los Angeles, Calif.; one son E.E. Dobbins, Victoria, Texas; one sister Mrs. L.F. Scarbrough, Selma. Twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive.
